Shams Mulani Remains Patient While Awaiting Senior India Call-Up

Mumbai left-arm spinner Shams Mulani is continuing to await a senior India call-up despite years of strong domestic performances, consistent wicket-taking, and contributing with the bat. Mulani, who recently earned the Player of the Series award in India A’s First-Class series against Australia A, stated that he remains a patient person and will continue working hard and putting up performances while representing Mumbai.

The 29-year-old player recently helped the 42-time champion Mumbai begin its Ranji Trophy campaign with an innings-and-155-run victory over Chandigarh at the Wankhede Stadium. Mulani is closing in on 300 First-Class wickets and shares the bowling workload with spin partner Tanush Kotian, with both all-rounders continuing to make their case through consistent performances on the domestic circuit.

While admitting that natural human disappointment occurs when opportunities pass by or when he feels he should have received a chance on a tour, Mulani credits the support of his teammates and coaches for keeping him grounded. He has also sought feedback from coaches, including those with India A, regarding what steps are needed to reach the next level. His immediate focus remains on performing for Mumbai and giving his best to the team in every single game.
