Real Kashmir FC suffered a 3-1 defeat against debutants Nagaland United SC at the TRC Stadium on Friday in the season opener of the Indian Football League. The visitors secured all three points by establishing control with two first-half goals and maintaining their defensive organisation throughout the match.

Nagaland United opened the scoring in the third minute when JH Remlala capitalized on a defensive error following a long throw-in. Vanlalhriatzuala K then doubled the lead in the 21st minute with a right-footed shot after a five-pass buildup. Real Kashmir attempted to respond before halftime through Thabiso Nelson Brown, Joseph, and Lalvenhima, but visiting goalkeeper Vanlalhriatpuia made crucial saves.

Real Kashmir reduced the deficit in the 59th minute when Rohmingthanga inadvertently scored an own goal while trying to clear a cross from Lalvenhima. However, Vanlalhriatzuala restored the two-goal advantage in the 74th minute by scoring his second goal of the match after receiving a through ball from Zomuansanga and beating the advancing goalkeeper.

Despite late pressure from the hosts, Nagaland United held firm and secured their maiden victory and first points in the league. The result served as a difficult homecoming for Real Kashmir, highlighting issues with defensive concentration and finishing.
