Asian Football Confederation Announces Nominees for Annual Awards in Bangkok

The Asian Football Confederation announced nominees for its upcoming annual awards ceremony, which is scheduled to take place at the Aksra Theatre King Power in Bangkok. The Vietnam Football Federation earned a Diamond category nomination for the fourth consecutive edition, appearing on the shortlist alongside the Chinese Football Association and the Football Association of Thailand. The awards span four categories, with Japan, Jordan and Saudi Arabia listed as Platinum nominees, and Bangladesh, Guam and Laos listed as Ruby nominees.

According to the Asian Football Confederation, the shortlist does not represent a ranking of Asia's top national teams, as associations compete within their specific categories. The Diamond category specifically honors organizations with extensive operations, professional competition systems, established youth training, grassroots networks, and effective implementation of support programs from FIFA and the confederation. The upcoming event features 19 prizes to be handed out during the ceremony.

Additional categories highlight players and coaches from across the continent, including the race for the AFC Men's Player of the Year. Nominees in this top men's category feature Alireza Beiranvand, Feras Al Brikan, and Salim Al-Dosari, who is aiming for a third victory after winning in 2022 and the previous year. The women's player shortlist includes Marziyeh Jafari, Holly McNamara, Kim Kyong Yong and Kim Hye-ri. Other categories recognize futsal internationals and coaches such as Joseph Montemoro, Go Kuroda, and Sadayoshi Shirai.

Fans and audiences can watch the ceremony through digital platforms, including the official YouTube channel of the Asian Football Confederation. The event follows previous editions and highlights achievements across various member associations and individuals in continental football.
