Sunil Bharti Mittal Says AI Tools Create New Business Opportunities

Artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT have introduced new possibilities for established businesses, according to Bharti Enterprises Founder and Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal. Speaking at the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women graduation event during a conversation with Asia Pacific President Kevin Sneader, Mittal emphasized that companies need to embrace technological changes early to maintain their competitive edge and adapt to ongoing disruptions.

Mittal reflected on his entrepreneurial background, noting his transition from manufacturing bicycle components in Ludhiana to bringing push-button telephones to India in the early 1980s before moving into mobile telecommunications. He explained that recognizing opportunities early and securing capital by building investor confidence were central to Bharti's growth, even when facing larger competitors.

Looking forward, Mittal expressed positive views regarding India's economic future, stating that the country's young population and entrepreneurial drive will generate major opportunities over the next twenty years. He predicted that India could rise to become the world's second- or third-largest economy, driven by the potential of its young entrepreneurs.
