Meenakshi (India) Limited announced that its Board of Directors has fixed Friday, October 30, 2026, as the record date for the sub-division of the company's equity shares. Under this corporate action, each existing equity share having a face value of Rs. 10 will be split into two fully paid-up equity shares with a face value of Rs. 5 each.
The strategic decision aims to enhance the tradability, liquidity, and affordability of the company's shares. By lowering the face value, the management seeks to encourage greater participation from retail investors and widen the overall shareholder base, which the board considers to be in the best interests of both the company and its investors.
Following the implementation, shareholders will hold two shares for every single share previously held while maintaining their exact proportionate ownership, as the total value remains unchanged. Further details regarding the execution will be communicated through the stock exchanges.
Chairman and Managing Director Ashutosh Goenka stated that the move is designed to make the shares more accessible to retail shareholders and improve stock liquidity. Headquartered in Chennai, Meenakshi (India) Limited is an apparel manufacturer and exporter that secured a direct listing on the Main Board of the BSE effective July 22, 2026, and is also listed on the Calcutta Stock Exchange.
