Hong Leong Bank Berhad has established a strategic partnership with UnionPay International to enable cross-border QR code payments in China for its customers.
Through this collaboration, HLB Connect application users can now complete transactions at over 120 million merchant touchpoints across China that accept UnionPay and Weixin Pay.
The development marks an expansion of digital payment capabilities for the bank's customers traveling or conducting business within the country, utilizing existing mobile application infrastructure to connect with major merchant networks in the region.
