Anthropic Files For IPO As Artificial Intelligence Firm Prepares For Nasdaq Debut

Source - Google News - Artificial Intelligence

Anthropic has filed its registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering under the ticker symbol ANT on Nasdaq. The planned stock market debut will test investor appetite for artificial intelligence, with discussions around valuation shifting between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion following financial disclosures.

The creator of the AI model Claude reported rapid revenue growth, climbing from $41 million in 2023 to $4.585 billion in 2025, and reaching $16.286 billion in the first half of 2026. However, the company also reported massive accounting losses driven largely by changes in the fair value of convertible notes and financing instruments linked to its rising valuation. Additionally, Anthropic faces complex relationships with major technology partners like Amazon and Google, which invest in the firm and distribute Claude while simultaneously competing with its products through their own cloud platforms and AI models.

As the company prepares for its public market entry, it maintains massive long-term hosting and computing commitments that exceeded $417 billion by early 2026, alongside a specialized governance structure that gives its founders significant voting control. The IPO will ultimately test how public markets value high-growth artificial intelligence companies that contend with substantial infrastructure costs, complex partner dependencies, and ambitious expectations for future profitability.
