National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man's official visit to China carried significant strategic importance for Vietnam-China relations. Zhang Jian Guo, also referred to as Truong Kien Quoc, noted that the visit helps consolidate political consensus and open opportunities across multiple fields. The engagement follows the strategic development momentum established by top leaders in April 2026 and promotes building a strategically significant Vietnam-China Community with a Shared Future.
Amid a volatile international and regional situation, high-level contacts reinforce trust and support peace, stability, and regional economic integration. A key highlight was the second session of the Cooperation Committee between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China. This event advanced regular legislative exchanges, sharing experiences in oversight and promoting cooperation documents to build a fair and transparent business environment that removes legal obstacles in trade and investment.
The visit also fostered economic cooperation in new areas like infrastructure connectivity, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, clean energy, and communication satellites. Vietnam's development needs complement China's strengths in technology and supply chains. Truong Kien Quoc proposed translating shared understandings into concrete mechanisms and legal adjustments, such as investment market access and intellectual property protection.
Finally, he emphasized strengthening the oversight role of legislative bodies to ensure cooperation documents are implemented effectively at local levels, including in border areas. Combining official channels and people-to-people exchanges will further support the comprehensive strategic partnership and sustainable development between Vietnam and China.
