The Indian Air Force recently hosted a spectacular aerial display titled 'Wings Over Ganges' at Namo Ghat in Varanasi, marking the institution's 94th anniversary celebrations. The three-day event took place over the Ganga river and featured 94 aircraft, including fighter jets, helicopters, and specialist display teams taking to the skies. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the concluding day of the celebrations in the city, where faith, centuries-old traditions, and the Ganga shape everyday life along the riverfront.

During the event, the Indian Air Force showcased several formations and displays in the skies above the riverfront destination. These featured the Omkar formation, the Surya Kiran aerobatic display, and the Sarang helicopter team, bringing together pilgrims, visitors, and locals along the riverfront where the ghats have long been at the heart of this connection.

Following the conclusion of the aerial spectacle in the skies, the activities shifted to the calm of the river with the Ganga Aarti at Namo Ghat. This provided a different perspective on one of India's most enduring spiritual traditions in Varanasi, a city where everyday life is shaped by the Ganga and centuries-old traditions.
